It's a shame we visit certain clubs in the CSFTA Winter League who do not have one shooter who competes in the winter league. I wonder if they are only in it for the income.

Id rather have the clubs to visit as an option, than just stuck with say 4 grounds as is the case in Nwfta. There are more clubs there, but they don't have ft shooters. At least by visiting grounds with no Ft shooters currently, it may encourage some who see ft in action, to have a go?
Possibly Si, but after shooting at these clubs for some years I haven't seen anyone taking up FT. After all, look at Terry and Mel who left Basingstoke to set up their own FT club. One of the other clubs I belong to is Meon Valley who have 2 fabulous grounds, they have a number of HFT shooters who, I believe, would love to have a bash at FT, unfortunately the club no longer belongs to the region.
I think the problem for Ft clubs id they don't always mix well as a general club? Take Tondu.
3 and half people when I re-joined it in 2006. I put in a lot of hard work and argument to build the club up, eventually finishing with covered two x covered Zero range, permanent courses, grading the Road flattish! By 2016 we had got g to 60 members. Around, 10 of those were Ft. So we went from 100% Ft members to 16% ish. Now while I was running things that was not so much of a problem as I had a way (helping others) of getting non Ft shooters to help build /run our Ft events.
But since leaving there are now only about 4 occasional ft shooters in the club with little or no maintenance of the Ft ranges, but plenty on the plinking range!
1 or 2 are trying to keep Ft going in the club, but its on the verge of extinction ?
Least we have the option of going there for now!
Is the (Csfta) answer to only have Ft events at clubs that have a Team perhaps?
What would that limit the region to?
Carrisbrook
S.Buccs
Newbury
Frobury
N.Oxon
Bisley
That may well be only 4 from 6 for me in 2021?
Perhaps a summer Csfta league is needed, more people like shooting in the warmer weather than the wet!
Personally I would love to see a Summer League, the idea had been broached at regional level in the past but without a lot of interest. Buccaneers, another of my clubs, does do a members only summer league. However, I have spoken to the committee at Meon Valley with a view to them re-joining the region as I know a number of them (they have over 150 members) would like to try FT, they have two superb grounds to choose from. When I helped start ETL, in Essex, we decided to build a covered range, this resulted in the majority of shooters just sitting under cover without moving to the FT course. What with the addition of electricity and running water, some of them didn't even venture out of the club house!
Oaktree Covered range is limited to 2 sitting and 1 standing lol
Proposal form AGM then Barry I think?
Definitely Sime.
Wafta and swefta have shot Summer for many years, Mfta, Nefta and Nwfta also of late. I see no reason for all regions not to have a summer league as there are definately some who don't shoot winter due to cold etc.
My Money, and Woddys fr that is on Newbury to be too wet and cancel? Anyone else got any better hope?
