Well new mag has arrived . a much better idea . it loads in from the other side and is locked in place by the barrel . which means it cannot move when shutting the loading shuttle . garden testing tomorrow ??? HOLLY

Wednesday is Vulcan day at the club . so i will continue putting rounds through it as a running in period . two tins is i think right . i hope to have the carm single shot loader by then ? but who knows as it is . might try a small wedge of credit card over the top of the single shot loader i already have . just to see if will keep it in place better . probably not . but hey ho , don't try , don't know . if it does not work out , well what do i get to replace it . dunno . probably nothing at the mo . ??? HOLLY

Things are not as they seem . shot today and although things were better , still small flyers . to make a long story short . i suspect the single shot tray .a small amount of damage to the pellets while loading would account for bad groups at range . to confirm this i tried the other single shot mag i have . it is actually a double mag . it slides across after each shot . sounds good but when you move it across , it sticks in your face . so just using the first loading port , i shot 5 shots at 55 yards . the only movement from point of aim was left and right with the wind . so ordered another tray from CARM these gents have a very good rep in this field . so fingers crossed . if this does not work . well of it goes . ??? HOLLY.

Ok out tomorrow to see how it goes as is . tomorrow and thursday . if it goes ok , then on we go with converting it fully , HOLLY

well this is the latest version of the Vulcan . needs some weight on the front for standers and a set of sling swivels on the side . getting there though ??? HOLLY

Ok i think we are starting to see the wood for the trees . shot it today and the groups were better but the windage was not . ( clean barrel ) . went around the course with the shutz and when finished . tried the vulcan again . same . so off with the barrel shroud and silencer . on with the carbon shroud . groups came in slightly and better windage . took the carbon shroud off but left the O rings on that were inside the carbon shroud and screwed the origional vulcan shroud back on . tight to the O rings . the accuracy and the windage was still good . i think it may be the same problem the TM 1000 had with the shroud butted up against the action . the O ring stops it doing it . why and wherefore is not for me to know . all i care about is does the booger shoot straight and where i think it ought to go . cannot shoot it anymore this week as winter league next sunday so gotta get the steyr out ??? HOLLY

Thought i might try the Vulcan tomorrow with a carbon shroud . just to see if that has and effect . ??? HOLLY

While the shutz did well the vulcan did not . it just would not put in a good group. i think it was cos i had not cleaned the barrel . will check it out sunday

Ok been busy so not much put on here . been windy so really it has been hard to make up my mind as to whether the vulcan is a rifle too keep . anyway i put it over the chrono and 768 fps . so out the stock and found that the power adjuster was not the same as you tube . had a good look and pretty simple . underneath is a allen bolt which you loosen . then just turn the knob on the back of the action in a couple of turns . 778 fps . groups shrunk , accuracy better . plenty of time to make up my mind yet ??? HOLLY

Well by that i mean less valuable . butt hook fitted ( upside down ) sling swivels fitted to the left side of the stock . hampster fitted to the under side of the stock and possibly a adjustable cheek piece fitted to the rear of the stock . means it will not be for everyone . wednesday i hope will tell . gotta raise the power a smidgen to 777 from the 768 at the mo . i got a rather nice butt hook of of al at the club . for it . you cannot beat a shutz armadillo hook ??? HOLLY

Managed a hour at the club this morning with the vulcan . tried AAs and exact pellets . both in 8.4 . i think probably i will be keeping the vulcan . i need a calm day to just check the groups and a bit more weight on the rifle . once i start to alter the rifle to suit me . it will not be saleable . so make your mind up time coming shortly toa ground near me ??? HOLLY

Right only one scope to play with now . so wednesday is Vulcan day . i just hope the wind drops down to a bit softer so i can see whether it has the right stuff for FT . first groups . starting at twenty yards and on out to 55 yards . will it stay or will it go ??? HOLLY

Adjusted the trigger today , i would say it is now very much like the daystate electronic trigger . only down side now is the trigger blade is curved . have sent off for a trigger shoe to straighten it a bit . really need a straight rod . but the shoe will do for now . awaiting a weaver rail lifter to raise the scope line .

It is interchangeable Keith . testing today ( damn rain ) . got a lot to get through . one thing i don't like is the magazines . used a single shot loader . also the rifle hates lubed pellets with a vengence . exacts and AAs , it shoots the same but with a slightly different zero . very quiet with the silencer on . no movement on discharge . gonna wait till the weather is better till i use it again and get a couple of weaver lifter to get the scope up ??? HOLLY

I got , the rifle . the gun bag , ten tins of JSB exact 8.44s 4.53s . the bipod . the Hugget Silencer . maggazines 4 . filler and connector . spare O rings hand book . uncle tom cobbly and all . . so if it does not rain tomorrow . we will see if it was worth it . Happy days ??? HOLLY
