Raining wednesday so get a few hours in tomorrow with Mr Shutz . need to set up the Lupe scope on it . need a shroud for the last few inches of barrel to quieten it down a bit . see how it goes tomorrow ??? HOLLY

Should have stayed in bed today . i got down the club early to re zero the shutz . blooming cocking pin broke . had to go home to get my spare . rifle was not shooting well . found out half way around the course that i had put a top of airarms 8.4s into a pouch with a load of 7.9 acupels . one lubed pellet . one dry pellet . not good . hopefully sunday will go better ??? HOLLY

Well i have to say that old rifle shot damn well today . dropping just two of the twenty shot in 20 mph winds . HOLLY

Well gotta say the old Shutz is going really well . average of two shots dropped on half the course . not bad ??? HOLLY

Working on setting up the shutz today trigger wise . it had a small glitch between first and second stage . dropped it out of the stock and tweaked first stage screw two turns out . TRIGGER PERFECTION ? HOLLY

Against a 97 . a 107 , 207 , 16007 . any seven you like . no way , no hope , no chance ??? HOLLY

Cos this weighs a ton probably a good open class rifle Keith . but i will put this rifle up against a 9015 any day ??? HOLLY

Well i was hoping for decent results of at least as good as the old rifle used to be . BUT they were better . oh joy , oh double moist leg . Yehawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Right . after much faffing about swapping bits from the shutz i bought off Al .i found that a lot of the bits did not fit . the two models were not compatable . so the rifle never shot properly . just finished modifying it . all back together . not pretty but i hope it works . will see sunday . got a choice of barrels . so which ever one is best goes on it . the one on it now has been shortened . so will need a muzzle brake or carbon shroud . we will see . HOLLY

OK tried the shutz on my garden range with the newer barrel and it did not do so well . only mills in it at 25 yards . but that would not be so good at 55 yards . so old barrel back on . got a small leak out of the air arms filler . which i stopped by giving it a tap to allow air out to expell the bit of grit in it . ??? HOLLY

Bazza won't approve but i had to put the short barrel on the shutz . i don't have a shroud to go over it yet . looks a bit odd . ??? HOLLY

Right not much going on , so shutz strip and try to stop the leak . put it back together . this time without the help of those who were not helping . could still hear a much smaller leak . suspected the filler . early air arms type , never did trust em . cheap old things . sure enough after a bit of spital on the filler . i could see just a very small bubble . placed a pice of wood on top of the filler and gave it a couple of sharp taps . all it takes is a small amount of grit in these , end of . sorted at least for now . see if i can get a daystate type male connector in there . can't test it in the garden as it is to noisy . bit like the owner ??? HOLLY

PS the difference between spring gun shooters and PCPers . is that springers are happy with a decent result . PCPers are unhappy with anything less than a win .😀😀.

Well for a change the shutz went well . adjusted the power up to 780 fps and it went well . it went even better with the exact 4.53 pellets . i only had a zero of 40 yards on grandads lupe . so went out on the course aiming up and down a bit . did quite well , if i do say so myself . Holly

OK , shutz fettled but not sure as it styands that it will hold air . if not . then more drastic action will be called for . will see tomorrow if i can get across the field in the car ??? HOLLY

The older type of breech seals are not easy to get but i have several spare ones in black ( the originals are green ) melv is getting the shroud off , it is carbon fibre and needs heat on it to loosen it . otherwise it will not fit through the pup frame work . maybe ready to see what it can do next week . or not . oh and got to paint it black as per the original ??? HOLLY

PS then we will be ready to kick some spring gun ass .

Some good some bad as usual . the old barrel shot better than it usually did . but a slight leak from the breech seal upset things . next up is the newer barrel next week , when melv finishes it i hope . onward and upward . or maybe onward and downward ??? HOLLY

OK as i thought the carbon barrel shroud on the new shutz would not fit through the hole in the frame of the old one . so gotta come off . anyway used the old barrel sunday and damn me if the cocking pin did not break after 5 shots . took the old one off and fitted it . some were not heat treated . my original has been in the twenty years . so not everything that is new is perfect . push on ??? HOLLY

My Bull pupped Shutz has a complicated frame around it to A/ stop the zero shifting and B/ let it locate in the stock . never had that apart . so thought it had quite a few holes drilled and tapped in the central block . but on stripping it turns out that B&M who made it use original holes already there . so i just have to drill two very small holes that locate the pegs . i do hope it all works out . fingers crossed ??? HOLLY
