A friend sent me an email regarding pellet testing.
A colleague of his, a bench rest shooter, took the time to weigh a tin of pellets then shoot at a card to see the difference, the distance wasn't stated but I think they compete over 50 yards.
He had 4 batches, 8.6, 8.5, 8.4 and 8.3 weights then shot a group. The 8.5 and 8.6 were awful whereas the other 2 were spot on. Obviously it depends on the weather at the time the pellets were fired but could make an interesting article for one of the magazines.
OK pellet pusher arrived but with no instructions . hmmm funny looking thing . little round bit of plastic with a hole in the middle . looks a bit like a very small pea shooter . right ok . well after asking how it fitted or was used . i found it fitted into the stabiliser carrier . not external as i thought . fitted easily . will test it this wednesday ??? HOLLY
Uncle Phil told me about the gizmo you are testing which sounds good, interesting to hear your report.
As usual bazza i will test it to destruction . gotta do this properly . so barrel cleaned and dried . 10 shots to lead barrel . over the chrono to test if it increases or decreases power . then to accuracy testing . the rifle will do half an inch at 55 yards as long as conditions and pellets allow . so will see how it goes ??? HOLLY
Uncle Phil is sending me one.
Ok test did no as hoped . good groups out to 45 yards but after that opened up . phil is sending me a shorter one , as i think the pellets were being seated to deeply . will let you know ??? HOLLY
